Our sponsorship program
THROUGH SPONSORSHIP, YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR A CHILD TO ATTEND SCHOOL!
Support a child’s education for just $40 a month, or $480 a year.
Although we provide a free quality education to the most impoverished of the population, there are still some costs to the students' families in terms of being able to afford to allow their children to go to school.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
It is a DR law that students must dress in uniform and have shoes on in order to be allowed to be educated. If the school is inspected, and the students do not meet this qualification, the school can be shut down.
TRANSPORTATION
A lot of our students must walk over an hour to get to school. For some, the route to school is too dangerous to walk, so their parents would need to be able to pay for their transportation by motorbike.
TIME
Many of our students are the main breadwinners of their family. In order for them to be allowed to go to school, their families must also be willing to (and able to) allow their children to give up working hours.

That’s where sponsorship is helpful - it relieves the families of some financial burdens, and makes it easier for them to allow their children to come to school.
IVE DECIDED TO SPONSOR A STUDENT...NOW WHAT?
Send an e-mail to donate@youthupliftment.org to let us know if you would like to sponsor a boy or girl, and if you prefer a child in a specific grade. (Kindergarten to Grade Five)
You will be matched with a student based on your preferences and on who is in greatest need.
You will receive an email with information regarding your sponsor child.
We will keep you updated on your sponsor child’s progress throughout the school year.
